Settlr is an online notice board — a peer-to-peer platform that helps verified corporate employees in Hyderabad connect with each other for the purpose of buying and selling second-hand household items, finding flat or room accommodations, and transferring event tickets. Settlr is not a party to any transaction between users and does not buy, sell, store, inspect, guarantee, or take responsibility for any item, service, or agreement listed on the platform. The platform is entirely free to use.

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be an employee of a company with a recognised corporate email domain on our verified whitelist.
• You must register with your genuine corporate email address and complete email verification. Use of personal email addresses or falsified corporate domains is grounds for immediate account termination.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts is prohibited.
• Your company name is automatically derived from your email domain — you cannot misrepresent your employer during signup.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must complete email verification before you can post listings. You must notify us immediately at support@settlrapp.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You may post listings subject to these rules:

• All items, rooms, and tickets listed must be genuine, accurately described, and available for the stated price.
• Items for sale: Descriptions must accurately reflect the condition of the item (New / Like New / Good / Used). Misleading condition claims are grounds for removal.
• Rooms for rent: All details including rent, furnishing, gender preference, and proximity to offices must be accurate.
• Ticket resale: Tickets must be listed at or below the original face value. Reselling above face value may violate the event organiser's terms and applicable Indian consumer protection laws. You accept full legal responsibility for any such violation.
• Listings automatically expire after 15 days. You will be prompted to refresh or mark them as sold before expiry.
• Listings must not include prohibited items: illegal goods, prescription medicines, alcohol, tobacco, adult content, weapons, or any items whose sale is restricted by Indian law.
• You may not misrepresent your identity, company affiliation, or the condition or availability of any item.

You agree not to:

• Request advance payment, deposits, or any money before a physical meeting or inspection.
• Use Settlr for commercial purposes, spam, or multi-level marketing.
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users.
• Impersonate another person or entity.
• Attempt to circumvent Settlr's security measures, corporate email verification, or domain whitelist.
• Scrape, copy, or extract data from the platform in bulk.
• Post fake, fraudulent, or misleading listings.
• Share another user's contact details without their explicit consent.

All transactions are conducted entirely between users. Settlr does not handle any money, facilitate payments, or act as an escrow. We strongly advise:

• Meet only in safe, well-lit public places (e.g. your office campus, a mall, or a café).
• Inspect the item thoroughly before paying.
• Never transfer money via UPI, bank transfer, or any other method before physically receiving the item.
• For rooms, visit the property in person before paying any deposit or advance rent.
• For event tickets, verify ticket validity before completing the exchange.

Settlr expressly disclaims all liability for losses arising from transactions between users.

Your WhatsApp number is never visible publicly on Settlr. It is shared with another user only after both parties have mutually agreed to connect by accepting an interest request. You may report any user who misuses your contact information via the Report function on any listing.

By posting content (text, photos, descriptions) on Settlr, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display that content on the platform for the duration of your listing. You represent that you own or have the right to share all content you post. You retain ownership of your content. Images are hosted on Cloudinary and are deleted when your listing is deleted or expires.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Settlr is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• Settlr is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from: use or inability to use the platform; transactions between users; reliance on any listing; loss of data; or any other matter relating to the service.
• Our aggregate liability to you, if any, shall not exceed ₹ 0 (zero rupees), as Settlr is a free-to-use notice board and we do not receive any consideration from users for transactions.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Settlr and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your listings, your transactions, or your violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time without notice if you violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time via Me → Danger Zone → Delete account. On termination, your personal data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Settlr shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any dispute amicably.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app. Continued use of Settlr after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
